FOR PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINERS
AI client communication for dog trainers
Handler is an AI assistant that answers your clients' and leads' messages for you - texts, Instagram DMs, web chat and missed calls - in your voice, in under 60 seconds, from 1 inbox. You decide whether it sends replies on its own or waits for your approval, and anything it isn't sure about gets handed to you instead of guessed at.
It's built for professional dog trainers running $2K+ programs and for the facilities that employ them. It isn't a chatbot bolted onto your website, and it doesn't train dogs.
What it does
A lead texts at 10pm asking what your board-and-train costs. A client DMs on Instagram asking whether their dog can have peanut butter during the program. Someone calls while you're mid-session and hangs up before voicemail.
Handler answers all 3 - with your price, your policy and your words - and puts every conversation in 1 place so you can see what was asked and what was said.
How it works
1 inbox for every channel. Handler connects to your Instagram DMs, your business texting number, a chat widget on your website, and your phone line for missed calls. Every message lands in the same inbox with the client's name and history attached, so you never switch apps to find a thread.
It learns your business first, then your voice. During setup you give it your offers, prices, policies and the answers you're tired of typing (there's a bank of trainer FAQs to start from). Then it reads how you actually write to clients and drafts replies that sound like you - your phrasing, your length, your level of formality. If you're a 2-line texter, it's a 2-line texter.
Approve first, or let it send. 1 setting for your account. Approve means Handler drafts and you tap send. Auto means Handler sends and you see it in the inbox. Any channel you don't want Handler on, you turn off. Most trainers start on Approve and move to Auto once they've read a week of drafts.
It hands off what it shouldn't answer. Health questions, refunds, deposits, emergencies, anything you've flagged - Handler doesn't answer these. It marks the thread for you and tells the client you'll follow up. You control the list.
Missed calls get a text. When someone calls and you can't pick up, Handler texts them back in your words within seconds. You choose whether the phone rings you first and then texts, texts back after a missed call, or texts only. Calls forwarded to you are screened so the text doesn't get swallowed by carrier voicemail.
Every lead is counted. New contacts show up on a Leads screen with where they came from (Instagram, text, which page of your site), whether they got answered first, and what they asked. That's the number most trainers have never seen.
Who it's for
Solo trainers running $2K+ programs. Board-and-train, protection sport, service dog work. You're the trainer, the bookkeeper and the person answering "is this a good time to text you?" at 9:40pm. Handler takes the inbox so you can keep the client without being on call.
Multi-staff facilities. Places with a relations manager who lives in the inbox and 5 or more trainers on the floor. Handler answers first, keeps the whole team's replies in 1 thread per client, and captures leads that used to go to whoever picked up the phone. Facility pricing is quoted per location - contact us and we'll walk through your setup.
Handler is not for someone who wants a bot that says "great question!" and makes up a price. If it doesn't know, it asks you.

Facility pricing isn't listed here - it's set per location after a short call.
What Handler doesn't do
- It doesn't train dogs or give training advice beyond what you've told it to say.
- It doesn't answer medical, refund or emergency questions unless you turn that on.
- It doesn't send anything you haven't approved when your account is on Approve.
- It doesn't share your client data or use it to train anyone else's assistant. Your data stays yours.
Common questions
What does an AI client communication assistant do for a dog trainer?
It answers client and lead messages across text, Instagram DM, web chat and missed calls in the trainer's own voice, usually in under 60 seconds, using the trainer's real prices and policies. Handler Systems keeps every conversation in 1 inbox, hands anything sensitive back to the trainer, and counts every new lead.
How does Handler learn a trainer's voice?
During setup the trainer enters their offers, prices and policies and answers a set of common client questions. Handler then reads how the trainer writes to clients and drafts replies that match their phrasing, length and tone. Trainers can edit any answer, and the assistant keeps learning from the edits.
Does Handler send replies automatically?
Only if the trainer sets their account to Auto. The setting is Approve (Handler drafts, trainer sends) or Auto (Handler sends, trainer sees it), and any channel the trainer doesn't want Handler on can be turned off. Most trainers start on Approve.
What happens when a client calls and the trainer can't answer?
Handler texts the caller back within seconds in the trainer's words. The trainer chooses whether the call rings them first and then texts, texts back after a miss, or texts only. Forwarded calls are screened so the text isn't lost to voicemail.
How much does Handler cost for a dog trainer?
